چکیده
The Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) systems use electromagnetic radiations of different polarizations in the microwave frequency to collect scattering information from targets on Earth. Nevertheless, as with any other electronic device, PolSAR are also not ideal and subjected distortions. most important these distortions polarimetric caused due channel imbalance, phase bias, crosstalk between polarization channels. For spaceborne systems, Earth’s ionosphere contributes an additional distortion known Faraday rotation. The Microwaves and Radar Institute of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) is known for consistent work on the field of airborne synthetic aperture radar and its application. In April 2008 the 20th anniversary of the maiden flight of the well-known E-SAR system was celebrated. E-SAR was maintained well over the time. It provided valuable knowledge to the science community, especially in the past 1...
متن کاملPolarimetric Van Atta Reflector for Airborne Sar Calibration
Polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) has to be calibrated before its applications. This paper presents a novel reference target of Van Atta array design for calibration of airborne polarimetric SAR. It has capabilities of two-dimensional radio source tracking, 90-degree polarization rotation while retransmitting, and suppressing scattered fields from array elements and supporting structu...

15 صفحه اولSample Extraction Bsaed on Helix Scattering for Polarimetric Sar Calibration
Polarimetric calibration (PolCAL) of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images is a significant preprocessing for further applications. Since the reflection symmetry property of distributed objects can provide stable constraints for PolCAL. It is reasonable to extract these reference samples before calibration. The helix scattering generally appears in complex urban area and disappears for a natura...

Internal calibration greatly diminishes the dependence on calibration target deployment compared to external calibration. Therefore Electromagnetics Institute (EMI) at the Technical University of Denmark (TUD) has equipped its polarimetric SAR, EMISAR, with several calibration loops and developed a procedure calibrating the entire system except a few passive components which must be measured in...
